I have been doing carnivore and its without a doubt whats helped me the most before my surgery and now with an illeostomy. I was wondering if any of you now are doing a carnivore diet with a j-pouch? And what you eat/how it works/how many bowel movements a day?

Yes. A modified variant. Primarily pork & sheep. Some fish and cow. But also some yoghurt/curd cheese. A lot of butter (bulletproof coffee). Also a lot of very well chewed walnuts - good fiber and fat.
Why? Primarily to avoid gas / bacterial overgrowth, which is painful and seems to lead to ileus/obstruction.

Thats great! How many bowel movements do you have today on your meat heavy diet?
I would say 5 to 6, dont really count. Depends on several factors.
Several small meals over the day works much better for me. Normally no urgency.
What is your current diet Fredz?
Ok, take care.
I eat mostly any meat. But I also eat carbs for the calories. Little to no veggies or fruit. I have started taking a powder in water to get some of the vitamins etc you would get from veggies/fruit. I average 4-6 bowel movements a day.
Hang in there Fredz. I don't envy you doing the 3 step. I managed to get in good shape before my surgery and got it done in two.
Fred,
Not doing the carnivore, but I wager I've eaten as much red meat as any j-poucher except, I guess, the Neanderthals. Had my pouch since 1986 when I was 21 and I venture to guess that I eat some form of cow 2-3x/week. Further, I drink alcohol regularly, enjoy hot sauce and snack on nuts, cheese and most anything else.
Guess some folks will judge me, but we're all wired differently and what some want, others won't and what works for some, will not work for others.
Hang in there. If you want to talk, PM me.
