My husband's had problems on and off with pouchitis (excellent auto-correct to psychosis there!) over the last Iforgethowmany years. The flares are getting more frequent and the extra-intestinal manifestations are getting worse. In a flare he gets joint pains, his veins become much more prominent and he says that in his limbs, hands & feet it feels like his veins have liquid fire running through them.
So with his latest flare we've requested a gastro referral. That's gone through and he can to go Royal Bolton, Oaklands, Blackburn, Chorley, Leigh, Thomas Linacre or Salford Royal (Hope hospital). My gut feeling is that Salford's the best bet, but their waiting list is already up to April.
So have any of you had similar issues and had good experiences dealing with them at any of those hospitals?
