Hi all,

ive had this problem for a while now and in all honesty ive just been to embarrassed to ask anyone aboit it...but here goes. Ive had my ileostomy for just over 2 years now and come this may im hoping to start the reversal process and end up with a j pouch Smiler fingers, legs, arms and so on and so forth crossed!! so anyway i still pass quite alot of blood and mucus from my back passage (a few times everyday) when i get the urge i just go straight away, but the other day i got the urge and i ignored it because i was so busy with my kids, it went away but when it came back i had no time to even run and i ended up having a big accident :/ thi shas happened to me before and im just really worried, does this mean i wont have control with the j pouch also??

any help and advice would be appreciated, thnks guys

Accidents happen, even to 'normal' people Sally, so I wouldn't worry.
And I bet that you have not been doing your keigel exercises to keep things nice and tight down there!
Start doing those kiegels (if you don't know about them then ask your surgeon's nurse for a reference letter to a good physiotherapist for an initiation/instructions).
All muscles atrophy when not used so you have to keep 'using' them and keep them active.
Don't sweat this...
And have a good spring...things are sprouting here and the sun is shinning even if it is cold out...so I am in optimistic mode...
Hugs
Sharon
Yep. I had a few accidents with the blood and mucus before I had my j-pouch construction. Your rectosigmoid is still inflamed and it's normal to have all the problems that go along with that. Once it's removed during the next surgery when the j-pouch is made, things will calm down.

Definitely keep doing the kegels though!
