One of the things I hate about using public bathrooms is when there is urine soaked all over the toilet seat. In those times when there is a lot, I feel too grossed out to try and wipe it off with paper and just abandon the mission altogether.

Was wondering if there are any small anti-bacterial sprays on the market that anyone knows of? That would let me spray the seat first so it won't feel as gross before wiping it off.

Thanks.

Ugh, the public bathroom scenario. In the "before times" when I had a colon, I never sat on public toilets, I always squatted. With the pouch and the tendency to spray everywhere (sigh) it's no longer possible. So now I am constantly wiping the seats and laying down paper. It's a ritual. Sometimes I wish all bathrooms had those seat covers you usually find in airports.

The good news is, if you're too squeemish to wipe, a quick google search turned up that Lysol does indeed make travel size sprays, which you could stash in your desk, purse, car, backpack or whatever you have when you're on the go.

I'm equally grossed out by the condition of many public toilets. In addition to the questionable fluids on the seat, the swamp-like puddles on the floor threaten pants and belts.

That being said, their isn't much bacterial risk, I think, as long as you wash your hands well afterwards. Urine tends to be close to sterile, and (as gross as it sounds) most bacteria can't hurt you unless you swallow them in some quantity. There might be some viral risk (e.g. hepatitis), but antibacterial spray won't help much with that. I may have once contracted Giardia from a public toilet, but I don't know if the sprays are effective against parasites.

The biggest risk may be esthetic. I don't want the odor of urine to follow me around, especially if it's someone else's urine (yuck!).
Yea the main thing in bathrooms is c.diff but the only thing that kills c.diff is bleach so you would have to carry clorox wipes around. I am not that worried about bathrooms anymore after going through all of this colon removal nonsense. I just use TP if it is urine then take a shower when I get home after work as usual.
