thanks to everyone for their input as to how to increase my fluids so the bowel movement is more liquid have tried a few not a lot of luck but so goes the battle. Have another problem now have on occasion bleed a little with BM's now am bleeding every time not as bad as in the past with UC but I believe it is definately not good. Tried presc. ung for hemmroids no luck as well bumped up my pred to 8mg OD was taking 12 every other day. As my surg was done back in 1987 have very little cuff maybe a 1/2 inch. Have been told I probaly have Crohn's at this point hence the pred. as I have had no luck with other meds. I will get in touch with my GI next week and see if he'll have a look see I worry about cancer because of the constant irratation. Do you bleed with pouchitis? Have had inflamation in pouch but have been told the biopsy shows IBD of unknown origin. Any thought's Thanks

Bleeding can occur with pouchitis, but it is not typical. If you had pouchitis, you should have frequent, loose stools and urgency (like UC).

I am surprised your doc lets you stay on long term prednisone like that, even if it does work. Usually, if Imuran, methotrexate and or biologics are not effective, they urge pouch removal. Even topical steroids or Entocort are safer than prednisone.

I would also worry about dysplasia and/or cancer, since it usually is associated with chronic inflammation.
