Hi to everyone  I hope someone can help.   I had an anal stretching last week.  Came home, three hours later had a temperature of l03.  Called Surgeon Possible infection from pouch stretching or Asperated pneumonia that I had 9 months ago.  No fever after I took Tylenol.  I was put on antibiotic for 5 days.  Went to lung Dr. No asperated pneumonia.. I have been having bloating and finding it very hard to have a bowl movement.  I started taking Miralax wasn't working to well.  Started taking prune juice after every meal but still have a bloated stomack.  This morning I feel I have a case of pouchitis going to bathroom every 5 minutes with very little coming out.  I started with flagyl this morning .  Has anyone gone thru this with stretching?  I want to call my gastro by I always feel like I don't know what to do.  My Gastro is in the city it takes me 2 hours to get there because of traffic.  Could it be something serious .   I have stretchings before but I don't remember feeling this way. 8 years since J-pouch surgery. Has anyone ever experience this.  Thanks   Grace

Yeah I got that done once when my UC was wrongly diagnosed for a anal fissure. They try stretching your butthole cause apperently sitting too long causes it to squeeze up not letting you pass stool properly. I think it was bullshit in my case the docs didnt even know it UC causing the blood and irregular BMs. Have you tried doing pelvic exercise. They might help you get over with the control. Earlier I found it difficult to empty my pouch too. Now I just go less and hold more. Also something that I found good for myself was if I sit when I have the urge to go by that I mean when the pressure is felt at bottom eveything comes out quick. I know there's no science behind it just my own way of clearing myself in one go.

Is this not referred to as Dilation rather than anal stretching

During my takedown surgery I had dilation, although I didn't discover this until some months later during a consulation.

Dilation was required due to the narrowing of the anal canal, which apparently, is a normal part of the recovery process.

I assume it'll be the anal canal rather than the stretching of the anal sphincter, it's normally preferably that the anal sphincter remains tight to prevent leakage, which the pelvic floor exercises attempts to achieve.
