Anal Fistula Plug with collagen

My daughter has a fistula at the connection of her rectum/j-pouch site that has attached just inside of her vagina and then opened up below her labia. Her surgeon wants to use collagen to plug it up in hopes to heal it. Has anyone had this procedure done? And if so, what was your experience? And would this area near the pouch be considered a higher fistula?
