I had diarrhea about 10 days ago from an antibiotic. I started with the stitz baths for some relief. I even started fiber to help with soften movements. I went to my surgeon and diagnosed with me an anal fissure however, but I feel like I'm in the bath tub all the time and can't be normal. My surgeon gave me an onitment to help. I was wondering if anyone else had any good advice on how to deal with this. We go on vacation in a few weeks. I want to feel better before them

Anal fissures can be difficult to treat, and require some patience, but it sounds like you’re doing the right things. Soluble fiber tends to work a little differently for folks without colons, in that it helps bulk up the stool for most of us (rather than soften it), but it still should be fine with a fissure. If your ointment is nifedipine or nitroglycerin then it should help heal the fissure. In especially difficult cases Botox injections are sometimes used, but you ought to give the current treatments time to work first.

I've found ilex paste applied internally really works; for myself, when a fissure occurs, I'm able to determine its exact location within the anal sphincter and apply the ilex Just there; by the time of my next BM, the fissure has healed; or maybe the ilex is protecting it so well,  there's no stinging, burning or excruciating pain.
