Has anyone else experienced anal stenosis along with a stricture at the anastomosis connection? By this I mean the last inch or less below the anastomosis has also narrowed making it difficult to empty the pouch? This is also causing me to experience Amal fissures at the anal opening. If so, is there any treatment forcthis other than permanent ostomy ? I know my stricture is acting up but I also feel blocked in the anal canal. Not sure if this can be from ulcers in there too that just will not heal. After more than a year of this on and off I think my anal canal is shot and don't understand why the connection keeps closing. This is causing me tremendous grief and just cannot imagine needing a dilation every six months to keep this pouch.

I've had dilations of the anal anastomoses for narrowing/stricture. Had a few last year, and doing ok, but see my CRS in 2 weeks, and I know he'll want to do another. He ALWAYS wants to, to prevent problems now. But honestly, I've been ok. I also now completely avoid all overly fibrous foods that don't break down, and it helps a LOT on evacuation.
