I can say that I have had similar symptoms within a year or so of my reversal. I am now about 2.5 years out and am feeling pretty normal. Early on, however, I did experience a good deal of leg pain, or more precisely aching, especially when I moved around. For me it appeared to be part of an inflammatory response related to having pouchitis. This also translated into joint pain, especially my knees (In fact, I had to get them drained a couple of times). When I got the pouchitis under control, then my leg and joint issues eventually went away. I'm not suggesting that you have pouchitis - just saying that was the case for me.

With respect to gas pains, I had those for quite a while too. They began to diminish when I started taking probiotics (I was prescribed vsl#3 ds to address the pouchitis). Gas pain and gassiness in general is no longer an issue for me.

I still react to eating, although not as quickly as you. But eating does seem to stimulate bowel movement, which is why I try to avoid eating very often during the day.

The bottom line though, is that I too think you should discuss your symptoms with your doctor as I think you should be doing better.
I went to my regular doctor back in spetember complaining of joint pain, I can barely squeeze my hands shut in the mornings. the doc did some blood work and one of the inflammation test came back above normal. She had me re-tested in Novemeber and it again came back above normal and is now sending me to see a Arthritis doctor (this week) It took forever to get in to see this doctor. Now I think I am going to the wrong doctor, I should go back to my butt doctor to have him check my for pouchitis.
I did go see my butt doc after my second blood work with my regular doctor and yes I told him about the blood work and the other symptoms but he didn't see that it was a problem so I left.
Its all so confusing of when to go to the doctor. He is a great surgeon but not so good with you if he isn't going to be cutting on ya.
Should I get another gaastro doc instead of the butt surgeon?
I had bad luck with my gastro, I beleive they misdiagnoised me for too long that ended up leading to be hospitalized for over 8 days just to get me stable to really investigate what was going on with my colon. anyway thanks for listining to me-
Can pouchitis get worse if untreated?
Pouchitis is a pretty distinct set of symptoms that can include the dreaded butt burn but is much more than that. In my case I have increased frequency, swelling in my left knee (and perhaps hands), and generally not feeling very good. My first bout was also accompanied by a fever. If you suspect pouchitis, then you need to get that checked. The only way I know to get a definitive answer is via a scope with biopsies.

I actually go to both a surgeon for pouchitis and general follow-up work and a rheumatologist for my arthritis. In fact it was my surgeon that gave me the recommendation for the rheumy. They should be able to work together to help resolve these kind of connected problems.

Deciding upon a gastro or a surgeon is a judgment call. I think it all depends on who you are most comfortable dealing with. I don't think one is inherently better than the other. I would go with someone you trust.

Pouchitis can definitely get worse if untreated, so if you think you might have it you should get it checked.

Hope things get better for you soon.
