I just came across information about a new drug to treat chronic pouchitis that is apparently showing promising results in trials. Wondering whether anyone else on this forum can share info about this. By the way, Dr. Shen is a member of the U.S. board of advisors for the UK-based pharma company that hopes to bring this drug to market. This link does not appear to be working for me. I did read some information suggesting this drug is made in an enema format and has been successful treating pouchitis in trials. The mechanism of action is described as inhibiting white blood cell adherence, migration and activation - basically a switching off of the inflammatory process enabling tissue healing.
