Have you had a change in your ability to tolerate alcohol post colectomy/pouch surgery for UC?
I quit drinking 20 years ago after my surgeries because alcohol tolerance went way down. I would feel bad for 2-3 days after only 2-3 drinks.

Alcohol goes to my head very fast, probably because of how my digestive tract is rerouted. I’ve noticed over the years that certain types of liquor makes me very ill, rum is one of the them. The only thing I can tolerate after 40yrs is vodka and then only 1-2 drinks a week.
No change in my tolerance, same as before surgery.
This is likely to have a lot to do with how well hydrated you are when you drink.
I get drunk very quickly and easily then sober up fairly quickly. I drink more now than I did before. No issues unless it's a super fruity drink.
I never drank alcohol since having my pouch. I would not recommend drinking though, especially with a delicate system that we have.
