Hi is there anyone out there who is over 60 with a Jpouch that is over 20 years old. I am worried about the future coping with my pouch as I age. I had my operation in 1991 and am approaching 60!

I don't exactly meet your criteria, I am 51 and have had my pouch for 30 Years. So far, my pouch has aged gracefully ) honestly I am more concerned with my sagging jawline!!
Thanks Megan. I think what i worry about is incontinence! Although i rarely have leaks in the night it does happen and I just wondered if this gets worse as the pouch ages and is there anything we could do.
Cath I'm like Megan, I worry about my sagging jawline too! No, I'm 58 and will have had my pouch 20 years this coming April. I am experiencing some night time incontinence as well. I was chalking mine up to the fact two years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn's (lucky me!). I suppose if it's lasted this long there's no reason logically I can see why it shouldn't last 50 years.
I have had a K-pouch since 1976. By Dr. Joel Bauer, Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. I have had a couple of valve corrections. Very little pouchitis, which responds well to Flagyl.
thank you Bodoni that's good to know. May i ask what are valve corrections?
