Adhesions and back pain

Have they ever given you an MRI? My daughter's arthritis (sacroiliitis and enthesitis, which is inflammation of the tendons) was diagnosed that way. A CT isn't always sensitive enough to show the issues. I'd ask for an MRI. My husband has psoriatic arthritis and the MRI was always what they went to to f/u with him, not a CT.

Could be adhesions, but not too likely. Have you seen a rheumatologist for a different approach? It sounds like you have just gotten pain treatment, not treatment for the cause...

Ongoing back pain is usually not muscle strain or related to abdominal surgery. Plain x-rays and CT may not show inflammatory conditions.

Chronic back pain is, unfortunately, quite common. While it might be related to surgery or pouch, it might well have nothing to do with either.

I am experiencing this at the moment and
it has been for a long period of time. I had an MRI that did not show any inflammation in the back. My GI has now requested a spinal MRI as he indicated a plain X-ray would not show anything. In my case, however, I have numerous other conditions that can be further aggravating my beck pain such as a chronic stricture coupled with pouchitis and cuffitis. Just an idea, in addition to possibly seeing a rheumatologist may help you.

Plain X-rays show nearly nothing with arthritis, unless changes are way along and degenerative. Kid also was dx by X-ray for her sacroiliitis and enthesitis.

My j-pouch is large and it is up by my tailbone. I saw it in a contrast x-ray a few months ago. Everytime my j-pouch gets inflamed due to pouchitis I have increased back pain and now I know why. Maybe this could be contributing to your pain as well.
