It might help reduce the pain, and maybe even relax the gut enough for symptoms to improve. However, I cannot see how it could actually "remove" adhesions for a permanent solution.

I did try acupuncture for neck and other pain due to spinal stenosis. I got a lot of relaxation from the first treatment. But, subsequent treatments were mostly a waste of my time. Some people here have gotten all sorts of good results, but I think it was for pouchitis type pain and functional disorders, not mechanical obstructions.

I agree with other posters, in that acupuncture would not in and of itself remove a physical obstruction or break up adhesions. However, there may be some benefits from relaxation and pain relief from obstructions or adhesions, especially if this is frequent for you.  

If you are looking for alternative treatments, there is some documented merit in ART massage (active release techniques) in softening or breaking up adhesions, but you would have to find a qualified therapist, particularly one who specializes in abdominal adhesions.
