Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well.
Whilst on holiday I developed a searing pain in my left buttock where I could no longer sit down. The doctors identified it as an abscess and proceeded to drain it and give me antibiotics.
Since then the incision has constantly been draining and I've switched antibiotics 3 times. I have also recently moved location and have a new doctor. They have referred me to the local colorectal clinic to meet a new surgeon in 10 weeks time. I am so anxious that I have may have a fistula after reading another thread on this forum.
Essentially what happens is the wound heals over periodically and then it bursts and the process begins all over again. It is extremely painful to sit or apply pressure when the wound is blocked.
My j-pouch is working fine currently though, with no discharge or anything.
Does this sound like a fistula to you? I've got 10 weeks to wait so please put my mind at rest!
Thanks,
I
