I am 3.5 weeks post takedown and was wondering if this pain is normal part of recovery.
Since being out of hospital i am having what it seems is major gas pains. They come and go. Roll around my tummy and hurt like hell. It's like someone grabs my intestines and twists them. ouch.
The only way i can fart is on the can while pooing.
And to poo i actually have to push and strain a bit. I only go 3-5 times a day. It's pretty thick output. No buttburn.
I mainly have pain and cramping.
It floors me when it rolls around and it's excruciating. Gasx doesn't help. I'm taking 5mg endone here and there and there10mg at night. Pain worse at night.
Last night and this morning my lower abdomen and pelvic area hurt so bad it even hurt to pee. Not my female bits or bottom. The muscles in that whole area. Hurts to push.
I just feel very sore inside with lots of cramps.
is this normal recovery or should i be worried?

I would ask your doctor if you can try: Levsin/sl. That was my life saver for the gurgling in my stomach. It is just put under the tongue. That is the best part and it works.

I think the pain is from pushing way to much. You have to relearn to go to the bathroom. Try and hold it awhile and then go and each time try to go longer. Each day gets easier to learn. You have to retrain yourself. I am 9 months out. If I push really hard I have the same thing and also pain in my incision. I do have to do is sometimes but try very hard no to.

Are you on any medicine to slow you down. I would rather have the runs then have to push to get it out. I only took to loperamide today. At least if I have the runs then I know I am not backed up.

I hope this helps you out some. I am so sorry for your pain. I do know how you feel. Please keep us posted.

I can hold it in for ages if needed. No issues with that.
Just seems like after awhile i can"should" go. If that makes sense.
I guess now that you mention it the pain is worse when i push to go.
I do not take anything to speed up or slow down. Haven't had to.
It is weird to go poo i now. Feels so different and i feel like i really gotta push to get things out.
Should i just wait and wait even if it's all day and only go when it's all ready to come out on its own easily.
