Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? I've been having some real sharp pains that I think is gas, with the feeling of having to go but nothing comes out. I strain and if I'm lucky will have some liquid with bits of solid stool. If I wipe, I can see blood, not a lot, but just enough to make the paper red. I've been on the generic brand of Librax for a number of years and cut the amount down from 6 or 8 to 4, since I hate being on the stuff. It leaves me with a dry mouth and horrid breath. I've also started using suppositories with the suggestion of my doctor, who felt that I needed them. Last night we went out and for the first time, didn't take any Lomotil all day, thinking that perhaps that was limiting the amount of movement. While we were out I had the pains again, and held it back until we returned home. My underwear was wet when I got home with the liquid that I couldn't hold back. I was finally able to go but still wonder what this could be all about. Any suggestions or ideas?

Don't think so - no temp, no body aches, and I do believe that Jan says that with pouchitis there's no bleeding. I have the feeling that it might be a narrowing of some sort because I have to strain so much, but, I'm not sure. Driving me crazy since I feel fine unless I get the darned pains. Haven't had any night time incontinence that did turn out to be pouchitis which I had a few months ago. I appreciate your input! I'm hoping that Jan sees this post and can possibly give me a clue as to what she thinks it could be. I just doubled up on my Librax and had an apple thinking that will help it....I don't have very much fiber in my diet....maybe?
Thanks, Jan, that's what I thought as well. I've been using the Canasa Suppositories, and they don't seem to be touching it. I thought maybe I'd stop for awhile to see what happens. Although I don't seem to be going much since using them, it seems that all of these symptoms happened after I started using the suppositories. Don't know if it's just coincidence or not....my pouch as never been a happy one, and I'm a very stressful person, so I'm sure that it's all tied into one. Hopefully the Librax will make some of the symptoms go away and if not, I guess it's doctor time...UGH.
