although my recovery from takedown is progressing well, my stool is usually more formed than liquidy. And I did have a hemorrhoid that is slowly healing up, but sometimes when I go to bathroom, some of the stool chunks have a little bit of bright blood on them, not every trip though. Is only way to know for sure what is going on is with a scope? I need to schedule my annual scope with Dr Shen in a few months but should I try to get appt sooner than later to see whats going on or am I ok to wait? If just the hemorrhoid or a fissure it would not be something that needs addressed right away.?

If it was a fissure, you'd be having a lot of pain with each BM. You already know about the hemorrhoid. I would focus on softening the stools more. Not so much as liquid, but more loose than formed.

Poucho and Jan,
i apologize for intruding on this post. I'm in the car and just left Ckeveland Clunic. I'm in my iPhone and can't find where to create a new post in jpouchorg . Can anyone help me? I would like to put an update on the forum regarding my medical situation to see if others have any advice on my recent suggestion from Dr Remzi.
Poucho,
I have anal fissures. They are incredibly painful when passing stool and for a long time after as well with major burning. The blood passed is bright red and just on the toilet paper. It's never mixed with the stool, but that's just my experience

Jan what would you suggest I do to soften the stool a bit? Sometimes a have a little bit of pinching in the anal area that produces a small amount of pain but if fissures are very painful im pretty sure its not that then.
scheduled my pouchoscopy today with Dr Shen, his first available appointment was middle of July..lol. 3 months from now

bring up page on phone, top left corner you see the 3 lines, click on them, sign in, then click on those 3 lines again and select post
You can loosen things up with things like spinach, lettuce, fruit, juices, etc.. Some fiber supplement would work too, but only if you are sure to drink plenty of fluids. Don't take laxatives unless your doctor tells you too.

Thank you.
Salads? I would love to eat salad again but scares me with takedown being only 6 weeks ago. Isn't salad more risk of blockages?
Gee, I don't know. It all depends on you and your experience. I was eating salad on my third meal post op. Sure, I don't recommend wolfing down whole carrots. But a little lettuce chewed well should be OK, I think. But, don't eat it if it scares you or you were instructed not to.
