Hey everyone, it’s been a long time since I posted. As a reminder, I am a physician j Poucher. As many of use end up dealing with weight issues, and I know GLP1 are intriguing—I wanted to share this article so you could share it with your doctor.
Intrinsic GLP 1 is secreted from the ileum and colon. (Aha!) it effects many different systems and includes some mitochondrial function.
I talked ay length with my CRS who just didn’t have any worries. I had worries about illeus and gastroparesis—or the like causing an issue with the pouch.
Long story longer—I am trying it. It does slow my output down, to the point I needed miralax to empty for a few days. It seems to be leveling out—but I am not scared to use it. For the record, I am one of the Poucher that is sometimes too think at baseline. Lol I do have to remind myself to drink constantly bc the thirst and hunger drives are really lower. But oddly, overall I actually feel better, it’s weird, and unexpected.
