Good day,

I have stricture of at both ends of my pouch.  I was dialed to 13mm this morning.  After the procedure I was told I could resume a normal diet.  I went out for a fairly large breakfast.  Did some walking around after breakfast, came home for a nap.

I had a bowler movement before my nap and there was a bit of blood, no worries there.  After my nap, I had another bowel movement and this time there seems to be a greater amount of blood.  I realize this is blood mixing in with stool.  There is a decent amount of blood in the bowl and in the toilet paper.

I don't have pain other than a slight pinch in the anal area when evacuating.  No other symptoms other than some anxiety because of the blood.

After reviewing some posts on this forum it seems a few people have experienced the same thing.

It's now been 7 hours since the procedure.  I'm wondering at which point should I become concerned and go to emergency/call my Dr?  Should I wait for a few more BM and monitor the blood output etc?

Just looking for some advice!  Thank you.

Since alot of the threads around bleeding and dilation don't really have a conclusion I thought I'd share what happened after my last post.

I had several more very bloody episodes.  One at 5am seemed like the worst, so my assumption was that things were progressing badly.  I made the decision to go to the ER.

I had not eaten since 10am the previous day, drinking only water.  I sat in the ER hungry but feeling safe.  My vitals were take by the triage nurse and they were all normal.  They got me a bed quickly in urgent care and ran some blood tests.  To my astonishment my hemoglobin was still normal!  Bowel movements had much less liquid blood.  DRs wanted to repeat the blood work and my hemoglobin had dropped 6 points, but still in the normal range.  I started passing lots of gas.

At around 11:45am I was discharged with instructions to come back if the bleeding got worse, was light headed, fevered etc.

It's now 345pm and Ive had a long nap, some soup and crackers.  Will take it easy for a few days.  Lesson learned for the next dilation is; don't eat 2 egg, 4 peices of french toast, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, 3 bacon, coffee and potatoes an hour after the procedure. Go SLOW and consider a modified diet for at least 24 hours.

Scott F, you answer many questions on this forum and I want to thank you so much for helping other as well as helping me.  It takes time and shows you care about fellow human.  A quality that is quickly becoming rare.
