Probably a bit over kill but I’m choosing to fast all day today 10-9-24 for my pouchoscopy at 10 am arrival for an 11am procedure.

im concerned with the mushiness of stool vs solidness and worried about taking my chances if I were to eat solids today 10/9 all day and the hospitals instructions say to eat a light meal at 5 pm no later of dinner.

does anyone think one 4.5 oz warm tap water enema vs two will do the trick tommorrow 10/10 morning before scope being im fasting  the entire day today ?

im going to be diluting my apple juice to cut down on sugar with water per every 8 oz I drink and having popsicles that are not red or purple as well as broth and Gatorade zero sugar through out the day

will I be cleaned out being im post mucosectomy with one warm tap 4.5 bottle enema and no solids since 730 10/8 till after scope 10/10/24?

I ran my delemma of not being certain I will be clean with two tap water enemas without the fasting my my gastro office I said I was worried about it would take more than two tap water enemas to clean out

I’ll make sure to keep my potassium level in check today w diarrhea expected and such

thanks for any input

Thanks scott

but there’s no harm in fasting today all day 10-9 before pouchoscopy tommorrow at 11 for a 10 am arrival ?

I just feel like I’ll be the cleanest wo solids today all day before hand

on the other hand wondering how the diarrhea will interact or effect insertion of the enema tip into rectum if it will play a roll

i have Gatorade for tidsy broth and popsicles

not eating for a day sucks but I want to ensure I’m cleared properly even though office said I didn’t have to fast

bottom line I have given myself enema with tap water pre mucosectomy not post op this will be my first post operative’ly so I’m obsessing about how it will go that’s all

Hardly any stool comming out from pouch when I have to poop and it’s only 1035 am my time eastern standard, 1 day before pouchoscopy

i am fasting today and then two tap water enemas till clear morning of scope tommorrow 10/10

my anxiety is around the enemas to make sure I get enough tap water up the wazzoo so I took it upon myself to fast all day today so the giving self enema process would go easier tommorrow morning

i feel pretty empty it’s just my anxiety causing me reluctance to eat as instructed day before scope and the pending outcome results causing great anxiety too

i receive pouchoscopy at every 6 month intervals by the way because of gap and pouch polyps etc

Thank you

I’ve been given different opinions and instruction from 5 different nurses

some said two enemas only either fleet contained or warm tap watered but the latest is to do the msg cutrate which I started on at 6 about 39 mins ago my time

i confessed to the staff I ate a few slices of Genoa salami two precut slices of cheese and a entire apple all at 3 pm today

dr relayed to staff member to tell me to do the mag citrate 10oz bottle

im on the 3rd sip of it at 650 tonight/soon

2nd may citrate for me after 23 years

my pouch was built /colectomy October 15 2001 so 23 years ago for jpouch/colectomy I last drank this crap

fox chase will revise their instructions my flexsig  instructions say have a light dinner no later than 5 not don’t have solids the day before pouchoscopy

they apologized today and will make clearer instructions

thanks for your well wishes/and responses. And I’m more nervous about the results afterward nothing else

i do this every 6 months of late pouchoscopies especially since moving in from a private gastro of 22 years and switching practices one that is progressive and cutting edge

Thanks Jan!!

my instructions said have a light dinner at the bottom not clears all day the day before. At 3 I had a spoke two slices of cheese and some precut salami Genoa because of different input from like 5 different nurses

one said stopping eating wasn’t necessary today the day before

I’ll do my enemas tommorrow pouchoscopy morning but the dr wanted the mag citrate too

abd I’m post trans anal mucosectomy 4/17/24 I thought not having a rectal cuff anymore I could get away with just enemas but if I ate today then I guess not I need the mag citrate

regardless fox chase will revise their instructions because they are misleading and inaccurate
