I only poo once at night after using 2 scoops of miralax.

i worry all day that i way not poo at all.

Anybody else experience this and what helps.

For some reason miralax does not work in the morning.

i saw my surgeon last week who did an examination under anaesthesia and found no strictures etc and said i have functional constipation.

i avoid high fibre in case miralax can’t deal with a high stool volume .

would monterey lactose or linzess help.

i wonder ihiw anyone else copes with this problem.

I am 3 months post surgery

I do drink plenty of water

i i have eggs and cereal for breakfast

sandwich lunch

dinner is vegetable soup followed by steamed broccoli and cauliflower with chicken or fish

What really helped me is drinking a lot of water before each meal, that flushes everything out for me. I am not sure if that would work for you but drinking a lot before meals, during a meal, and after a meal may help.

If that does not work, you might want to see a gastro

I'm in agreement with Lauren & Scott about the water intake and the addition of psyllium to the diet. Psyllium actually regulates the output to be not too much and not too little, and with lots of water, it can definitely increase the flow.  I was having bowel obstructions at alarmingly increasing rates before I started having psyllium. And water is the best for keeping things regular, just make sure to keep up with your electrolytes when drinking a lot of water!  Electrolytes also help support nerve & muscle function so that your bowels can perform the actions they need to move the stool through and eliminate the waste.  Water, electrolytes and psyllium together are a nice gentle combination.  It takes experimentation to get the proper amount for yourself.  I only like organic, fine ground psyllium mixed with water as opposed to capsules.  The other kinds/forms don't work as well for me and aren't a gentle on the gut and butt.
