I started a modified keto diet a few years ago. Not to lose weight but to feel better. Initially I cut out all sugar and carbs. Went full out keto. I lost too much weight but didn't miss the sugar or carbs. I learned a whole new way of eating. My joints didn't ache, I was sleeping better, my thinking was more clear. I now eat mainly extremely low carb and very low sugar for the most part however I am not against the occasional cookie or bowl of ice cream. It works for me and I have kept the weight off. I still feel terrific and have more energy now than I did 20 years ago.
