So had my first round of j-pouch surgery on February 27th took a while to figure out what kind of system was going to be beneficial to me as my stoma is not symmetrical it is odd shaped and it is very close to the surface of the skin for the output which is caused quite a bit of issues we finally reached the conclusion we needed to use a convex pouch system which seem to be working but we were only getting about a day and a half before the seals were breaking I've tried the Rings with paste with a belt and now the system that we had been using is not even holding up for a day had to have my incision reopened on March 20th the large incision under the belly button which Still Remains open but is healing nicely but we're still having to protect that area as it is under the pouch system skin is still getting very sore due to the output being so close to the surface have used Marathon have at least a month and a half before I can have the surgery reversed don't know if I'm going to survive to that point at my wits end they have giving me different samples of pouching systems to try the nurse has been great we just can't seem to get the right fit haven't been able to figure out what changed when we had a system that was working at least for 30 hours between bag changes and the last several days we've not even made it 24 hours looking for any suggestions of anyone who may have had similar issues and how they resolved them so frustrated thank you in advance for your advice. How do ulcerative colitis for 40 years actually did pretty well on mesemaline didn't have to go to the biologics but in September of 23 colonoscopy show dysplasia how to repeat specialized colonoscopy in November which showed a second area of dysplasia doctors and surgeon agreed probably a good idea to move forward with J pouch surgery since I had had it for 40 years sure hoping take down surgery and afterwards goes better than this
Thank you
