Has anyone in here developed endometrial cancer in your 40s after all the colon and pouch stuff was resolved?
Im currently being evaluated for suspected uterine cancer. Biopsy is Tuesday. Im only 43, which is outside the typical age range and im also not obese. But all the drugs i had to take during my long battle with ulcerative colitis like steroids maybe could have destroyed my bodys progesterone production which lead to a rise in unopposed estrogen over 20 years and unopposed estrogen was listed in the literature as a risk factor for endometrial cancer.
I also wonder if all the CT scans we are exposed to in our IBD to pouch life increases risk too?
The treatmemt, if it is found, is radical hysterectomy plus chemo and radiation. How will those things impact my j pouch? Will it harm the pouch and cause me to need a permanemt ileostomy? My friend who died of cancer in 2017 had bowel rupture from chemo and had to have a bag.
