inguinal hernia surgery w/ J pouch

went to Dr today after noticing a bulge on the right side of my pubic area a couple days ago / nurse practitioner identified bulge as inguinal hernia / if the hernia needs surgery will it have any effect on my J pouch? have had j pouch over 20 yrs

Nope, your inguinal canal and the J-Pouch are a long way from each other. Should not have an effect at all. The stress of surgery and the effects of anaesthesia are the only things that might affect the pouch.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Structurally your surgeon shouldn't be anywhere near the pouch.
