Hi,

“ a tiny bit of history to bring you up to speed” I had colorectal cancer 10 years ago. At that time I had an ileostomy created with hopes that I would eventually be able to be reconnected. At that time. I also had a J-pouch created. I had tthe take down surgery. However, my surgeon cut my internal sphincter, and I never was able to have any kind of continents. So I had my Ostomy re-created as an end ileOstomy . After this point, I developed cancer throughout my entire colon and my colon was removed. However, my J-pouch and rectal stump still remains.

📌 Every 8 months to a year I start having contractions in my rectum and what feels like an elephant I am giving birth to. After these episodes happen, I start bleeding, minimally and passing mucus. I do not pass mucus at any other time other than  when this happens. The pain is so horrific with the contractions that it sends me to the emergency room. The doctors here, including my G.I. doctor have no idea why this is happening. They also have no idea what to do about it. I just went through an episode of this they last about a week and then they go away. And then I’m usually free of any discharge or pain for eight months to a year. Does anyone else here have this happen and if so, have you been told why? My doctors are completely stumped and do not know how to treat me.
I have had 15 abdominal surgeries and can handle pain but the pain that I experience with this is like nothing else. It is so intense. Any help you can give me would be so very much appreciated and I am so grateful I found this forum, thank you 🙏🏻
