I have a j pouch and Gastroparesis. I’m in the hospital for Gastroparesis issues. I hadn’t been really eating for quite a while. Saturday evening I suddenly felt great and hungry. I haven’t felt hungry for a few years. I ate chicken breast and zucchini with thick skins, Sunday morning I had an omelette. Come lunchtime, I couldn’t eat anything. I had a small amount of diarrhea Sunday morning. Since then nothing. I haven’t gotten rid of the previous nights food. I feel nauseous and have mild pain and a lot of discomfort. Could this be a blockage? I normally empty my j pouch 6-8 times a day. I don’t think the hospital is taking this seriously.

Well, I think it’s probably a blockage based on your description. They are miserable, and I’m sorry you’re going through it. Most blockages are fortunately partial and end on their own. *If* you are able to stay hydrated then there’s not much for the hospital to do unless the pain becomes severe or you start vomiting. What would you like them to be doing?
