Hi all,

I had my takedown 7/12/22. I have had all three surgeries open due to the first being emergency with complications and then building too much scar tissue. After my takedown, I had an abscess and was re-admitted to have it drained. I have now had pouchitis for 3 weeks. I have a pouchoscopy scheduled next week. I had a CT scan last week and today they are not showing any acute concerns, however, I have severe right side pain that radiates down my leg and up my abdomen. I am also struggling with intense spasms in my rectum area with frequent bowel movements. I have been using ointments and sitz baths to manage. I am wondering if anyone has ideas on what could be causing all this pain. Thank you in advance!

I had similar issues and a pelvic floor therapist really helped. All the nerves and tendons and such get shifted around in surgery and from adhesions after, and I was amazed how much pain it could cause. Similar to what you are saying, I felt like I had a pinched nerve or twisted muscle. It took a long time and still acts up, but now I know stretches and treatments and can manage it myself. I highly recommend it assuming your surgeon doesn’t think anything more serious is happening.
