It started with a throat like I had been snoring all night with my mouth open and fatigue and very runny stools. It seems like a very sneaky virus as it takes a while before you think you have it.I then got tested and it came back positive and I was told to isolate for 7 days and I thought my symptoms were very mild but then after doing some chores I could hardly breath and was very hot .luckily I had some asthma inhalers otherwise it would have been trouble as the doctors and pharmacies are struggling with this new variant surge so dont wait to the last minute for supplies.I then spent 7 days fatigued and blocked up with this bubbly white watery liquid in my chest.I had no sore throat, headache but a mild fever ,shortness  of breath, fatigue and a strange short temper but by day 11 I felt okay to return to work. They are saying this variant stays with you for up too 3 months and you can become infected again and again.I dont think I could take being reinfected too many times and the flu here in New Zealand is said to be worse and even more contagious as the covid and that the health system is on the verge of collapse. I know its might just be the media but the amount of people I know with covid at the moment is huge but lucky no hospitalizations yet.

We are all getting covid.  It will be in existence forever much like the flu and common colds.  There is no hiding from Mother Nature.  New Zealand had basically zero natural immunity so it was just a matter of time once NZ opened up that Covid became widespread.  Be grateful that the virus has weakened and doesn't seem to be wrecking the havoc that it once did.  This is normal behavior for a virus to weaken because if it killed off all its hosts it would cease to exist.  We have good treatments now, the vast majority who contract it get relatively mild disease (no hospitalization) even those with co-morbidities.  It's now time for the world to figure out how to live with it.  The cat is out of the bag and it can't be put back inside.
