Not a female and I have a high pain tolerance but I don't think you should be having pain still. It definitely takes time for it to feel normal if that can really be said. Sometimes my stoma scar feels tight or uncomfortable but I wouldn't say pain. I also still have discomfort internally but I also wouldn't say it's directly the scar tissue being painful.

I hope this helps or that someone else can help. I also used an ultrasound machine to help break down my scar tissue. They are available through medical supply store but this may not help you. Have you spoken to your doctor about this pain already?

I had my stoma in the core area to the right of my bellybutton.

That area hurt for months afterwards.

now 10 months later, like pouchlogic, it does not hurt but it is still uncomfortable when coughing or sneezing. I am finally moving around a bit more which I think helps the situation.   I agree you should ask the surgeon his/her thoughts but I think with an open procedure it will ache longer than a lap procedure.
