Does anybody tried Amoxicillin and Flagyl for pouchitis? I was prescribed this today, not by my gi but my regular doctor because my gi is on vacation.. But he didn't write how much Flagyl to take... I understood it like I was going to use both Amoxicillin and Flagyl on the same day... Could this be a thing?

It’s an unusual combination. Flagyl doses vary a lot. Do you have a usual treatment for pouchitis that has worked for you in the past?
I've been on cipro and Flagyl since takedown basically. But Flagyl doesn't do anything.. Cipro work wonders after a couple of hours.. But it wears off after a while... It's kinda like it's needs too have a break for it to work again. Tried weaning off down to one pill a day and a pill every other day... But that doesn't work... So I was sat on 2 weeks cipro and two weeks Flagyl. But that didn't work either...
So now I'm gonna try Amoxicillin and Flagyl the same day....
If you have good insurance you might want to try rifaximin (Xifaxan) at some point. It didn’t work for me, but some folks report good results, and very little is absorbed systemically, so the side effect profile is excellent. It’s expensive as heck, though.
Please let us know how the amoxicillin works.
After half a day with Amoxicillin and Flagyl I feel some difference the positive way
number of bathrooms trips has gone down and the burning inside the anus is almost gone.. Hopes up 😀
