I have been complaining here for the last 6 weeks after my second takedown following  emergency surgery. For 5 of the last 6 weeks it has been miserable with cramps, bloating and many BMs in the early evening. Even though Imodium worked it also slowed everything down causing lots of straining from the too solid stool.

I started at 4 Imodium a day per doctors order, but I tried Levsin subliingual for the spasms. It worked.

yesterday I had the requisite 6 to 8 BMs, loose but not diarrhea, no cramp and completely emptying when I sat on the toilet.

the rotating of the two drugs has really turned things around for me. I thought I would report some good news since I have been a nonstop complainer. 😫

btw, here is a fun fact:

my insurance covers the prescription loperamide capsules, but won’t cover the levsin (not in the formulary), lucky levsin is very cheap.

Not exactly

I am having both good and bad days

I am trying to figure out when to take each of the medicines to attain optimal effect.

I think I have pouchitis but surgeon wants to wait until September to perform pouchoscopy. I was scheduled for august 5th with GI but surgeon vetoed the test

i have cipro in the house, I might just try it and see if it helps

but to answer your question. I am doing better, but I want only good days and no bad days.
