Did anyone else take so much cortisone pre and post surgery that it resulted in loss of function with their adrenal glands? I've been trying for years to get off the cortisone but every time I get close I have a blockage, pouchitis, or some kind of health crisis. I know there must be others out there that had trouble with their adrenal glands from all the meds they gave us before we had surgery. Let me know if anyone overcame it and how they did that while having ongoing pouch issues.

If you are years post op and still on steroids, I sure hope you are under the care of an endocrinologist. This is serious stuff and you need an expert to determine your needs. I did not suffer with adrenal insufficiency, but as a nurse I know the serious implications.

Yes! Thanks I have had an endocrinologist with me for years. They still say they have hope for me getting off it but it's been years and still no luck. Production is zero to one on all the tests.
