I am currently in the hospital with a loop ileostomy blockage I haven't eaten in a week and Dr Remzi wanted me to get a picc line but my local hospital says I "just need to eat" and a picc line "isn't a long term solution" she didn't even put food order in. Also the local surgeon here said my loop ileo isn't lasting me until my next surgery with Remzi in September

I am sorry you are going through this, I went through the same thing. I had a picc line for almost a month. I think you should get a picc line. My loop had soo many blockages that the surgeon had to open up the loop surgically to make it better and it still got blockages. The surgeon had to put a catheter in the stoma until the next surgery.
Oh my gosh. You need a pic for fluids. Remzi is amazing. Can he move your surgery up?

after my emergency surgery in May, I was severely malnourished. Since I could not eat for another 5 to 7 days plus the prior ten days of minimal intake, with ng tube in, surgeon and hospital staff decided I should have a picc line. It was an easy painless procedure. They then fed me with the TPN and lipids via the picc. I felt nourished and full after that big bag of TPN was finished. It took 24 hours for the administration.
I am surprised to read that your surgeon and the hospital are disagreeing on this. You are either malnourished or not. And if you continue to not eat you will definitely be.
While the picc line can stay in for 30 days, and of course it’s not a long term solution, the picc/TPN will buy you some time while they figure out the loop thingy problem.

Well, gee, maybe a picc line is not a long term solution, but it is a solution. Evevn a temporary central line without it being a picc is reasonable in order to start some TPN so you do not lose more weight. I was on TPN within days when I had to deal with a pelvic abscess and could not eat for 12 days.
You are not dying, but you need someone to give you answers. You cannot eat if you are obstructed. Hopefully after the holiday the A-Team will arrive!

Yes they opened it and pulled the intestine out more. Then stitched it back to my belly. It was very swollen right underneath the stoma. It healed and scarred so weird that food couldn't pass through anymore. Hopefully this is resolved now.

I had something like that happen too, unfortunately it did not work for me but I hope it works for you! If it does not work, they can always put a catheter drain inside the stoma permanently until the next surgery, that is what I had done.
