Anyone take anything orally or topically to help with severe anal spasming/pain post takedown? I’m 2 weeks in, 6 days on solid food, and have so much anal pain I’m considering the ED. Will definitely be calling my surgeon tomorrow if I make it.

I have taken low doses of Valium before and it helped me a lot.
If the problem is spasms then an antispasmodic like Bentyl or Levin is sometimes prescribed. Good luck!
Some people on here have take Bentyl, I think that might do the trick. Also, quite a few people I have come across, are taking anti-anxiety medications to help, that may help to. Keep us updated dear

Thanks for the recs. I ended up seeing my CRS a week ago and he prescribed some opioid pain meds (very helpful), lido and nifedipine cream (maybe a little benefit) and antibiotics for possible pouchitis despite being so close to takedown. Within 3 days on abx I was off the pain meds and urgency with spasms resolved. He treated without a scope which I’ll have this Tuesday but not sure if it will show anything after 10 days on abx. Weirdly in the past 2 days I’ve a some return of rectal pain with coccyx pain and a heavy sensation but nothing like before, no urgency, no tenesmus. I’ve been trying new foods last few days which may be causing some irritation. Guess moral of the story is you can have pouchitis (assuming it was given abx response) very early after takedown.
Yeah I try to stay away but I like helping people even if it's not always the right advice.alot like you ha ha.

No I unblocked them ,I think I was just going through a tough time but they have been alot better to me since.
