I currently have pouchitis.  I've got it mostly under control with xifaxin,

However the last two times I've had sex it has been painful.  This has never happened before.  I checked my IUD strings to make sure the IUD wasn't displaced and I can feel something pushing into my vaginal canal.  It doesn't hurt to press on it but I'm guessing it is my pouch?  I had just emptied it prior to examining myself.

Has anyone else experienced this?

There are a few things that can extrude into the vaginal canal. It’s hard to tell from your description, and you probably ought to schedule an appointment with your GI or Gyn (either would be a reasonable place to start). Some specific possibilities you could look up to compare with what you are experiencing are a rectocele, a pouch sinus, and a fistula. Good luck!

I have both a rectocele and cystocele. These are basically a collapsing of the vaginal wall with the rectum and bladder pushing into the vaginal walls. Comes with age, gravity, and post vaginal births. Anyway, this has been ongoing for me for well over 15 years and is not painful or problematic. Just something that is noted. I would think it is something else that is causing your pain. Your pouchitis could be the culprit, but it is also just as likely to be a red herring.

Here is a good link for you to explore the possibilities:
