I know IBD people usually have dental problems unfortunately. I wanted to share these dental tips that I do, I hope they help you guys too

Use Cavity Protection Toothpaste

Step 1: Use about a pea sized amount of toothpaste ( I use more though lol)

Step 2: Brush teeth thoroughly for at least 2 minutes, definitely under 5 minutes.

Step 3: Spit out toothpaste, spit out as much as you can, do not rinse.

Step 4: Do not rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes: Keeping fluoride in your mouth adds added protection for your teeth and gums

Step 5: Use Mouthwash after lunch, waiting until after lunch gives that fluoride toothpaste extra hours to be in your mouth I would definitely go for Mouthwash Fluoride type but any should do

For those of you that always ask for evidence for everything I say, here is the link down below.

I have bad gum recession. I do not have gingivitis or periodontal disease. Periodontist said usually with as much gum recession most have gingivitis or periodontal disease but I have neither. He said the recession could be from aggressive brushing over the years or could be hereditary. I know my dad had full dentures by age of 40 so I am guessing its that. I had 4 teeth done 5 years ago and it was horribly expensive. I followed up today and he said I have 10 teeth that need done or I may experience tooth loss in 5-6 years. I am only 50 but I figure I will have 2-3 teeth done every year as that's all I can afford. 2 front teeth will cost me $2400.. its ridiculous what they charge for this.

Did you brush with a hard tooth brush back then or did you brush your teeth over 2 minutes???

A soft toothbrush is always recommended over hard toothbrush. Brush time is usually recommended at 2 minutes.

I am sorry to hear all of that as well! I could not imagine paying for all of that! Would you like to get dentures instead???
