I had my first surgery in December of 2018, and my takedown in February of 2019. Everything was successful and I healed pretty well. My surgeon did have to cut some skin out by the stoma and staple that closed. For about a year or so after surgery. If I pushed too hard trying to go to the bathroom I would get horrible, twisting, cramping pain at that scar site. My surgeon checked it for hernia and said everything felt fine, probably just scar tissue.

Yesterday I was trying to do a little exercise and I used some resistance bands that obviously worked my core out, nothing excessive, just a few exercises. Later that night I felt that same pain at my scar and pain across my abdomen. It’s constant pain with cramping that comes and goes. I didn’t sleep at all last night, had to keep ice on it, and am still nauseas with pain. I was hiccuping with reflux all night and this morning, I did just get some pepto to take hoping that helps.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I have experienced that before around my scars area before. I believe mine was pressure pain from gas and overeating. Whenever I over ate, I would feel that pain. I increased my water intake and ate little less and everything went fine.

Are you overeating? Are you drinking enough water? And are you eating gassy foods???

No, this was caused by some light core exercises. I’ve had no pain/gas issues recently other than this. I am still in a lot of pain, with cramping and reflux and I have not eaten at all today.

Sorry you are in pain!! Hope you get better!

Yeah, I agree with you 100%. A lot of people have had problems with certain exercises on here, especially involving core. I hope everything gets better dear. I think you maybe need to get checked out by your gastro. I would make an appointment, especially if you do not feel better soon.

Please keep me updated

I personally do not do much core exercises anymore. I only do about 10 situps and then I stop. That seems to not cause me anymore problems at all. A lot of people on here do not even risk doing any core exercises, I think that is the safest way to go. Just wanted to give you some ideas/options.

What I do now is dancing and stretching. Maybe that might be a good: possible work out/safe method for you.
