When I had an ostomy I had anal discharge which was called diversional colitis I believe. It had a very particular appearance and odor. I am experiencing what seems to be that same discharge but from the pouch. I also had some leakage of it during the night and I've never had a problem with leakage/seepage before. Any thoughts or ideas?

This sounds like it might be pouchitis. It might also be worth getting tested for C. diff. How long has it been going on? Do you have a good gastroenterologist you can consult with?
It just started yesterday. I will try to speak with my gastroenterologist. For the most part the stool seems normal and no abdominal discomfort etc. I haven't noticed that discharge in the toilet but did have it as leakage during the night. I have an r/v fistula and that's where I really notice it.

Could possibly be pouchitis; that fistula sounds very suspect, I hope its not Crohns. What did the gastro say???
I didn't end up speaking with the doctor as the discharge disappeared as quickly as it began. It was very unusual but has returned to 'normal'. Who knows. I panicked prematurely...not the 1st time!

I think we all panic prematurely at some point in our lives, totally normal
