Hi.  Sorry.   I did get your message.  I've been running around.  I find it very difficult to navigate this site also.  I haven't seen Dr. Shen in 7 years but I found him to be the most knowledgeable doctor dealing with our problems by far.  I did find the therapist I used.  I believe you would need a prescription and Dr. Shen was the only one who was able to perform the tests that confirmed the diagnosis of pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). Beyond Basics Physical Therapy      110 E42 St  Suite#1504 New York, N.Y. 10017  212-354-2622.  I believe they have a downtown location also.  I do not remember the therapist I was seeing but they will set you up with the right therapist for your condition. I'm not sure what kind of therapy you are receiving now but it might not be what you need.  This is a very specialized therapy. Please check out the website.  It's very informative.

I hope this helps.  Feel free to message me anytime.

Hi Robb77, thanks so much  for replying to me.  Just wondered did you also have problems eliminating stool?  If so are you now doing better if you had this problem and how long it took , I know there are various kinds of pelvic  floor dysfunctions.  My doctor at NYU referred me to this physical  therapist who seems very well versed  so assume they will help me, I am 76 and in addition to this had several problems and operations a few years ago with my j pouch.

Again, thanks so much.

Yes. I had major problems with an incredible urge to go and not being  able to. Or just eliminating a small amount and having that urge not go away. I still get that but not nearly as severe for the most part. The biofeedback therapy helps re-train the muscles. I probably should go back for a refresher but they don’t take my insurance and if I remember correctly it was $200 back then.

Robb 77 I am so happy to hear that they did help you, I do exercises every morning which I guess is considered biofeedback and going back as like before in January every other week for manipulation and additional exercises .  So sorry to bother you, is there any article you might send me about where you went? or a link  you could send me.

I pay no money, I am on medicaire.  Thank you so much and God Bless, you give me hope my life has been hell since this has happend .

Lauren of emerald city-  He did respond and I think where I am going to at NYU they will help me, but it takes some time.  I did ask Robb some further questions. No I did not receive a private message from you.

Thanks so much for  your  help.

Michael

I am glad he responded, I hope NYU helps you out a lot! I never sent a private message; I was not sure if you needed Dr. Bo Shen's email, if you ever did, I have it if you ever need it. You can ask me questions whenever you would like too as well.

You are welcome for everything!

Robb-I did get your message this morning.  I think I told you I went to Cleveland many years ago and saw Dr Shen , had problems with J pouch, but he did not help me. Robb, I am very positive the exercises and other things  as you say a bit embarassing is all the same as you got, I know they did quite a few tests and think eventually it will help me, I pray. I thank you for all your help, and I will keep in touch as I wish you will, I live upper West side in NYC, so I won't take public transportation and pay a fortune for car services when I go to any doctors.  Just wonder if you are covered for the therapy? I guess you must live in suburbs in New York or NJ.

Have a good Holiday, and God Bless, Michael

MIKEEY
