The results of this pouchoscopy was the worst for me in 40yrs. I never seen pouchitis all over my pouch before. Doctor prescribed Mesalamine DR, I pray it helps. I’m allergic to Flagyl & Cipro and since having a CDiff issue, she doesn’t want to prescribe antibiotics.

Any other suggestions what I could do for pouchitis besides prescription meds?

Thanks

Non-prescription things to try include *very* low carbohydrate diet and a high dose probiotic, like Visbiome (sort of non-prescription). VSL #3 kept me off antibiotics for about a year. These both take a while to show results. Other than that you’re probably looking at prescription choices: perhaps rifaximin, or one of the biologics. Good luck!
