Hey guys so I had my j pouch reversal a month ago I go toilet around 8-11 including 2 times during the night. Ever since I had my reversal I get a weird feeling in my tummy almost as if its gas moving about or my pouch filling up followed a really uncomfortable  feeling in my bum and I have to clench and hold my bum muscles because I feel like I will end up pooping myself but it is really uncomfortable and its stopping me from going out for long periods of time. Sometimes if I eat the wrong thing it happens almost immediately but most of the time happens about 1 hour after I eat what could this be ? Thanks in Advance.

One month is a very short time.  My doc said a full year to adapt.  You will improve, but the surgical site will be healed before your gut fully adapts to the new plumbing.  8-11 times is pretty good for one month out, and I would have been thrilled to only get up twice at night.   I find that eating does stimulates a desire to go - not the same food already passing through so fast - but activation of the gut.   It gets better.  Even now at 7 months if i am going to be without a restroom for a while I will avoid eating before and while I am out and about.  Try to keep a log for a couple of weeks of what & when you eat then when you go and if you are extra gassy.

After surgery, I remember having to stop everything and clamping like a steel trap. Very painful . I don't remember how long that lasted but I know I remember a big difference at 4 months and then another qualitative leap at 6 months. At the beginning I would often wonder if I had done the right thing having the surgery. Patience and faith that it will change would be my thought for you....  hope you adapt quickly.
