I am wondering if any of my fellow Jpouch folks out there been diagnosed with Seronegative Arthritis? I am about 3 years since my Jpouch surgery. I suffered  with Ulcerative Colitis for over 10 years and was on Prednisone for a long time. I had suffered with Joint pain; however after I weaned off Prednisone the joint and muscle pain got much worse. It seems the prednisone had masked my symptoms somewhat. I wound up at a Rheumatologist and was diagnosed with Seronegative Arthritis or Inflammatory Bowel Arthritis as the Doc told me.

Anyone else been diagnosed with this?

After many years of joint pain I was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis approximately two years ago. I was first prescribed Prednisone and later was prescribed Humira. Before I had J Pouch surgery earlier this year I stopped the Humira and was started on Prednisone (4 mg) again. It seems to work pretty well for me.

Appreciate the response; yea it takes a long time to be properly diagnosed it seems. I apparently had SA a long time as I was on prednisone for over 5 years fighting for my life with bad Ulcerative Colitis and it had masked the symptoms. When I came off Pred I had crazy pain levels. Be careful with Prednisone - this can cause you many unwanted bad side effects. During the time I was on it I developed Glaucoma and Bone loss. I have tried almost everything; I cannot take biologics anymore as I developed antibodies; I wound up with a Pain Management Doc - taking Hydrocodone and my Rheumatologist has me trying natural remedies like Fish oil, Turmeric and Boswellia extract with minor improvement. Hang in there.

I have pretty bad inflammatory arthritis although mine is more on the ankylosing spondilitis spectrum. Im taking Humira + MTX to manage it, Ionic liquid Zinc has also really helped.

Thanks for the response. Yes Inflammatory Arthritis bites - I can't take Biologics anymore as I have Antibodies developed; had a bad Alergic reaction when I tried - wound up at the ER. I am interested in the Ionic Zinc you mentioned.. do you think this is helping any? Thanks

I also battle inflammatory arthritis.  My rheumatologist says enteropathic arthritis mimicking RA, lots of hand and foot pain although larger joints are effected too . Tried Imuran which didn't have much success so started on Humira.  Still have joint pain daily but GI symptoms best they have been in years. I battled pouchitis and fistulas for a long time.  Rheumatologist doesn't want to try anything different at this time since doing so well from a GI standpoint.

Anyone have any suggestions on ways to help the joint pain? It disrupts sleep and tired of hurting most of the time.  Anyone have success with tumeric or cbd oil?  Really don't like taking Advil daily although was giving the okay by my doctor
