Several times I have donated extra and unused Ostomy supplies to a group in Florida. This was a non profit group that assisted those in need by sharing these supplies to those people. Since in the “wisdom” of Hollister , which I cannot comprehend, has found it a necessity to change product that I have used for almost 20 years, I have extra bags. I have had to spend weeks finding a replacement for these WORKING products, much to my chagrin. But I digress.

So so if any of my fellow Ostomy peeps know or remember this address please forward.  Thx

Ask the ostomy nurse if there are organizations they know of that need products for ostomy patients who don't have insurance, or for low-income patients that cannot afford extras.  My hospital even donated some of their extra supplies to another country where a new appliance or bag is a luxury, can you imagine. While I had a temporary stoma I ordered more than I needed from my insurance company because I changed appliances sometimes 3 times a day due to my retracted stoma. Luckily my reversal was much sooner than we anticipated, so I had supplies leftover. My ostomy nurse took for everything to give to another patient who couldn't afford much.
