I had my takedown done on April 19th and I've been struggling with never feeling like I can completely empty and have been going anywhere from 18 to 25 times a day. I wasn't concerned because I know it's all very new still and I have read that people feel this way and go a lot at the beginning. Once I started seeing a lot of blood and having pain I called the surgeon. They did a cat scan and found that my pouch is not emptying all of the way and had a fecal bollus. For some reason the one side of the "J" is filling and not emptying which is causing irritation in the pouch. My surgeon is now having me do an enema every night before bed to fully empty the pouch, and even after two nights I feel so much better and it has significantly decreased my BMs. And I actually feel like I'm completely emptied out. He said occasionally the pouch doesn't know how to function and hopefully the enemas will reset and potentially help train the pouch to completely empty.

Has anyone else has this problem? And if so were you able to resolve the problem or are the enemas something you have to frequently do?

Thanks so much!
