So about a month ago I got my second surgery to form a functional J-Pouch and during the first week or so, everything was apparently working okay.  I would start having these gas build up and rumbling whenever I needed to go (it seemed) and after I went they would subside.  Well to shorten a part of the story, 2 weeks out I had a drainage tube placed for a leakage at my stitches inside me.  It seemed during that time my gas rumbling and pain went down a lot.  I got it taken out after two weeks and even after that my gas build up wasn’t as bad.  About 5 days ago I ate a good amount of beans and barbecue (I know, not smart).  However since then, gas has been so bad.  Like it builds up a lot when I have to go but it also builds up throughout the periods between bowel movements.  It literally feels like gas it’s trying to explode out of my bottom and I have to squeeze really hard to keep it in.  I try to hold it in to avoid using the bathroom frequently but it’s pretty painful.  I realize I ate gassy food but that was 5 days ago and it is starting to seem like any food I eat is gassy food.  On top of all this, straining to hold in waves of gas buildup and having to use to bathroom more frequently because of this, I think it might have formed a decent size hemorrhoid as well.  Just another thing for me to worry about.  My question is, does anyone have like these costant gas build up that is hard to hold it and/or painful or really uncomfortable? How can I fix this ( I already know to stay away from gassy foods, which it seems like I have been doing the past couple days)?

Recovery after the takedown is super bumpy for some people. I too had days when everything seemed out of control and then then things got better. You need to be patient. Apply sudocrem or any protective cream atleast 3 times a day. Dont wipe too much or it'll cause even more problems. Gas isnt a big deal as it used to be for me. Once your stool bulks up things get easy. Eat lots of banana( I eat like 4-5 a day), brown bread, oats, egg whites, chicken, cheese/yoghurt (if you're not lactose intolerant). Banana specially I found is the easiest to digest and helps suppress gas. Dont stress too much bro it gets easier with time. Try those pelvic exercises I wrote and also walking alot.

Have you tried gas ex or Beano? They come in generic form. Works for some people...

I’ve heard a lot of people say that Gas X didn’t really work but I have heard some better things about Beano.  I just don’t understand why I went a period of like 2 weeks where i barely had gas build up but now it seems like every 2 hours i just have a ton of gas build up.
