I just had a second seton put in yesterday. I am just wondering how many seton's people have. My surgeon told me she had a patient with 5 that just decided to have his pouch removed. She also told me that you can still get fistula's after your pouch is removed. Has anybody had that happen to them?

I'm now getting my 4th Seton tomorrow.
I had 2 setons prior to pouch removal. As far as I know, no new fistulas/abscesses have appeared, but there is a "fluid pocket" as a result of pouch removal surgery, and the pocket discharges its fluid from time-to-time (daily, actually). Similar to a fistula/abscess, but no infections.
I’m about to have a fistulotomy and I’m terrified! Had setons put in back in July. Has anyone gone from setons to fistulotomy with a jpouch? What’s recovery like? What’s it like with the open wound and the jpouch frequency?
