hi everyone, I'm so excited to found this site to share our stories and learn from each other

I had my colon removed on 6/16/17 and my take down was on 8/31/17 so it was almost 11 weeks, after the take down I had an ileus and I have to go with an NG tube for 4 days in the hospital

when I started to eat for the firs time I had 25 BM for 24 hours, my doctor put me on LOMOTIL 2 tables three times a day plus the metamucil, I still have alot of BM  I stopped counting them plus I have alot of gasses, my diet is kind of simple but has alot of carbs, I eat rise everyday with my lunch with a vegetable stew that has meet in it, and my breakfast and dinner are quite healthy. I don't have the appetite to eat like before but I'm trying

my only problem now is the trips to the restroom they are a lot and I'm getting tiered is this something normal to happened after the one week of takedown? Will it get better ? Do you have a good advice to get rid or reduce the gases should I increase the LOMOTIL ?

Please give an advice my doctor is not that kind of doctors that gives advices so please you do
